Rachels

Portfolio

Rachel's growing portfolio of businesses, achievments and exciting new opportunities.

Rachel doesn’t invest for the sake of it.

Each business reflects something she believes in, whether that’s sustainability, ethical sourcing, or simply doing things better than they’ve been done before. While each business is different, there’s a clear thread running through them:

A focus on sustainability and
ethical production

A willingness to challenge
how things are usually done

Building businesses that last,
not just ones that grow quickly

It’s less about following trends… and more about staying a few steps ahead of them.

Tiny Box Company

Something new is in the works.

Indiki™ is Rachel’s latest venture, currently in development.

Indiki™ is born out of a simple but urgent truth: schools are trying to protect children from the harms of smartphones, but in doing so risk cutting them off from safety, connection and confidence. This is not another phone, and it is not another app fighting for attention. It is a new kind of device, designed specifically for school life, that allows young people to stay connected, signal how they feel, and reach out when it matters most, without the noise, pressure and addiction of traditional technology. Indiki stands at the centre of a growing movement to restore real-world interaction, protect mental wellbeing, and give a generation back the freedom to be present, safe and seen.

Her core companies include Tiny Box Company, a UK-based business specialising in eco-friendly packaging solutions for over 100,000 customers, ranging from small independent brands to global retailers.

She also owns Tiny Box Maker, a manufacturing business producing high-quality, custom packaging in the UK, with a focus on craftsmanship, sustainability, and ethical production.

In addition, Rachel has backed and supported ventures such as Know The Origin, a brand focused on transparent supply chains, sustainable materials, and responsible fashion.

More recently, Rachel has been developing new ventures including Indiki, a business currently in progress that reflects her continued focus on innovation, sustainability, and doing things differently.

Across all of her businesses, there is a consistent focus on sustainable business practices, ethical sourcing, and building companies that are designed to last, not just grow quickly.

What is Tiny Box Company?

Tiny Box Company is a UK-based sustainable packaging business founded by Rachel Watkyn OBE in 2007.

The company specialises in eco-friendly packaging solutions, offering a wide range of products including gift boxes, eCommerce packaging, retail packaging and bespoke branded packaging for businesses of all sizes. From small independent brands to global retailers, Tiny Box Company supplies packaging that is designed to be both visually appealing and environmentally responsible.

A key focus of Tiny Box Company is sustainability. The business is known for its commitment to reducing environmental impact through responsibly sourced materials, recyclable packaging options and a strong emphasis on ethical manufacturing practices. It was one of the early adopters of sustainable packaging in the UK, long before it became a mainstream priority.

Over time, Tiny Box Company has grown into one of the UK’s leading online packaging suppliers, serving over 100,000 customers and continuing to drive change within the packaging industry.

The business reflects Rachel’s wider approach to entrepreneurship, building companies that balance commercial success with long-term responsibility, rather than short-term growth.

What is Tiny Box Maker?

Tiny Box Maker is a UK-based packaging manufacturer specialising in bespoke, handmade packaging for brands looking for high-quality, custom solutions.

Founded as part of Rachel Watkyn’s wider business portfolio, Tiny Box Maker focuses on producing luxury and custom packaging using skilled craftsmanship and carefully sourced materials. The business operates from a UK factory, allowing brands to create packaging that is not only tailored to their needs, but also manufactured closer to home.

A key part of Tiny Box Maker’s approach is sustainability and ethical production. By manufacturing in the UK, the company helps reduce the environmental impact associated with overseas production, while supporting local skills, jobs, and traditional manufacturing techniques.

Tiny Box Maker works with a range of clients, from independent brands to established businesses, providing custom packaging solutions that combine design, durability, and environmental responsibility.

The business complements Tiny Box Company by offering a more bespoke, made-to-order approach, giving customers the option to move beyond standard packaging into fully customised designs.

What is Know The Origin?

Know The Origin is a UK-based ethical activewear and lifestyle brand focused on transparency, sustainable sourcing, and responsible production.

The business was created to challenge traditional supply chains by giving customers clear visibility into where products come from, how they are made, and the environmental and social impact behind them. From organic materials to ethical manufacturing processes, Know The Origin prioritises sustainability at every stage of production.

Rachel Watkyn has supported the business as part of her wider commitment to backing companies that are built on strong values, particularly around ethical sourcing, environmental responsibility, and doing things differently.

Know The Origin reflects a growing shift towards more conscious consumer choices, where quality, transparency, and long-term impact matter just as much as the product itself.

Alongside ventures like Tiny Box Company and Tiny Box Maker, it forms part of a broader portfolio focused on sustainable business and ethical growth.

What is Indiki™?

Indiki™ is a new device being developed by Rachel Watkyn OBE, designed to support young people in schools without exposing them to the pressures and risks associated with traditional smartphones.

Rather than being another phone or app competing for attention, Indiki is being created as a different kind of technology, one that allows children to stay connected, signal how they feel, and reach out when it matters most, while removing the noise, distraction, and addictive design of mainstream devices.

The idea behind Indiki comes from a growing challenge in schools. While many are trying to protect students from the negative effects of smartphones, this can also limit communication, safety, and confidence. Indiki is designed to bridge that gap, offering a solution that supports both wellbeing and connection.

At its core, Indiki focuses on mental wellbeing, real-world interaction, and helping young people feel safe, present, and supported during the school day. It forms part of Rachel’s wider approach to building purpose-led businesses that address real problems, not just create new products.

Indiki is currently in development, with more details expected to be released as the project progresses.

Why did Rachel invest in Sloobie Skiwear and what do they do?

Rachel Watkyn invested in Sloobie Skiwear because of its clear mission to improve how performance clothing is designed for women.

Sloobie Skiwear creates ski base layers specifically built for the female body, rather than adapting men’s designs, which has long been the industry standard. This approach allows for better fit, comfort, and performance, particularly in technical environments like skiing and other outdoor sports.

The brand addresses a well-recognised gap in the sportswear market, where women have often had to compromise on both functionality and design. By starting from a female-first perspective, Sloobie offers a more considered and purpose-led approach to performance clothing.

Rachel backed the business because it reflects the kind of thinking she supports, identifying an overlooked problem and solving it properly, rather than following what has always been done.
